The slide duplicator itself works well --easy to set up and can make good quality slide duplicates. However, the information on the Amazon site as well as other websites regarding this product is woefully inadequate to describe which device and adapter(s) one should purchase. The important information needed is filter size and the focal length of the lens to be used for slide duplication. For APC cameras (like Pentax K series digital), the lens should be around 65-70mm focal length (100mm 35 mm equivalent)for duplication of the entire slide. I wish I knew this before ordering--it would have saved the time and additional shipping/handling expense of later ordering the correct filter adapters. The device itself is somewhat heavy with its full weight resting on the focusing component of the lens. I would worry a bit about stress and wear on the lens if this were used a lot. Other than for advertising, I don't know why camera brands should even be listed as compatible or not; the device attaches to the lens and is independent of camera brand or lens mount.

I know a fair amount about photography. I thought I could figure out how to transfer my old 35mm slides using my Pentax KX with this thing. But, I can't get it to focus...even with my 55-300mm Pentax lens at 110mm. I give up. I'm going to just take a picture of the slide screen, like the old days. At least I didn't waste much money.

I got the copier as promised. I am using it on a Pentax K20D. I had to get a step down converter to use it on the lens I had, an old 55mm pentax fixed length. It worked ok, but cropperd the picture. So I added a 1.5X coverter to the back of the lens and it works better. But the probelm now is that it is smaller than the image size, so I have to crop a bit of black border to get only the slide picture. I also learned that I really have to clean the slides very well. There is a lot of lint etc.It is a little difficult to focus and get a really shgarp image. The auto focus works but varies in success from shot to shot, and the image is opretty small to focus in manual.I purchased some step up adapters so I could use my standard zoom lens and when they came, the results were better. I can minimze the black border, but not totally eliminate it. But I can live with that. Also, I now have the option of zooming into the slide if I want to crop it.Overall, I think it will be useful and will use it.
