1. When attached to lenses with focal length less than about 110 mm (according to the instructions), it copies not only the slide but a considerable area of the frame. The instructions suggest enlarging each slide with photo editing software. With this approach, as much as one third of the camera's format area may be wasted and resolution therefore degraded. When I tried my long zoom lens, with focal lengths from 75 to 300 mm, I found that the minimum focusing distance is far too great to bring the slide into focus. I believe many buyers will find as I did that the lenses they own will either copy an excessive amount of the slide or fail to focus on the slide. There is no way to adjust the distance from slide to lens, as with a bellows.2. The device is unwieldy and difficult to use. This is the most objectionable problem to anyone intending to copy more than a few slides. The copier attaches to and rotates with the focusing lens, so that after focusing on the slide, the slide frame must be righted without disturbing the focusing ring. That is not an easy step. Getting the slide into sharp focus and squared up with the camera format at the same time is tedious and must be repeated for different slides, since they warp slightly.3. The plastic slide holder has places for three slides. Most slides, whether cardboard or plastic, fit tightly into the holder and do not slide easily in and out. Likewise, the holder itself does not slide easily in the copier. Each step is a minor struggle.The ad I read said that the copier is for my Canon EOS camera; actually, it will attach to any SLR camera that takes a 52 mm or 58 mm filter. It does not somehow make use of the Canon's features as it seems to imply. The ad also says that the copier fits a 52 mm lens; therefore I ordered an adapter ring for my 58 mm lenses. This was a waste, because the seller included an adapter ring.More importantly, the ad should have specified the lens requirements, stating the minimum focusing distance required and explaining the limitations regarding focal length. Absent or misleading information does not promote more on-line shopping.
